Problematic gaming
Gaming can start as a normal hobby and gradually shift into a pattern that disrupts sleep, school, work, and relationships. I provide evidence-based and solution-focused support for adolescents and adults experiencing compulsive or uncontrolled gaming. For younger clients, sessions often involve parents directly, building shared strategies that work at home, not just in the clinic.
Sessions are available in-person in Melbourne and via telehealth. See referrals page.
Screen use & digital overuse
Smartphones, social media, and online content are designed to hold attention, and for some people, the patterns of use that develop can significantly impact mood, concentration, sleep, and daily functioning. Therapy focuses on understanding what drives the overuse and building sustainable, practical strategies for healthier engagement with technology.
Common concerns include:
Constant phone checking or “doom scrolling”
Difficulty concentrating without digital stimulation
Sleep disruption due to device use
Reduced motivation for offline activities
Feeling dependent on screens for relaxation or escape
Screen use in children & adolescents
Young people's brains are still developing, making them particularly sensitive to the effects of high screen use. Difficulties with attention, mood, behaviour, and motivation are often linked to digital habits. Working with children and adolescents always involves a collaborative approach, understanding what's happening at home and school, and building realistic, gradual change rather than sudden restriction.
How I work with families:
Sessions may include direct work with your child alongside parent guidance and strategy development — addressing emotional regulation, routines, screen boundaries, and the underlying needs that screen use is meeting. The goal is sustainable change that doesn't create more conflict at home.
Neuropsychological assessment
Comprehensive neuropsychological assessment to evaluate cognitive functioning, including attention, memory, processing speed, and executive function. Assessments are conducted for a range of presentations and can inform diagnosis, treatment planning, and support recommendations.

First appointment
The initial session(s) focuses on understanding your situation, goals, and history. For children, a parent or guardian attends.
A tailored plan is developed collaboratively. The number of sessions varies. Some people benefit from short-term work, others from longer-term support.
